Gary Gardner ( eng. Gary Gardner ; June 29, 1992 , Solihull ) - English footballer , central midfielder of the Birmingham club Aston Villa , acting on loan for Barnsley. Pupil of the youth academy "Aston Villa". He played for the youth and youth teams of England.

Content

Club career

Gary began his career at Aston Villa with his older brother Craig . In December 2009, he suffered a cruciate ligament injury to the knee, but managed to recover, after which he played for the youth and reserve Aston Villa squads [2] .

In the summer of 2011, Craig went with the main line-up on the Aston Villa preseason tour to the Barclays Asia Trophy tournament . He came off the bench in the final match against Chelsea [3] .

On November 24, 2011, Gardner transferred to Coventry City on loan [4] . Two days later, he played for the club his first match against Brighton and Hove Albion , in which he scored a goal in the 9th minute, but his team was defeated with a score of 2: 1 [5] . Having played just four games for Coventry, Gary returned to Aston Villa on December 21 [6] .

December 31, 2011 Gary made his debut in the Premier League, replacing Mark Olbrayton in the match against Chelsea, in which the “Villa” won 3-1 [7] .

Career in the national team

Gary played for the national team of England to 17, to 18, to 20 and to 21 years. November 10, 2011, coming on as a substitute for Jason Lowe in the 62nd minute of the match against the youth team of Iceland , scored his first goals for the youth team of England [8] .

Personal life

Gary has a brother, Craig Gardner , who is also a professional footballer. The brothers transfer funds for the maintenance of the boxing gym in Birmingham .
