Liaosi Province (1949-1954)
Liaosi ( Chinese ru . 辽西 ) is the province of China , which existed in 1949-1954. The name of the province meant "west ( si ) of the Liao River."
Liaoxi Province was formed on April 21, 1949 from parts of the disbanded Liaobei and Liaoning Provinces, the city of Jinzhou became the capital of the newly created province.
In 1952, the city district of Shanhaiguan was transferred from the province of Liaosi to the province of Hebei .
On June 19, 1954, Liaosi Province was merged with Liaodong Province into Liaoning Province; the city of Sypin that was part of it and the districts of Lishu and Shuangliao became part of the province of Jirin (later they became part of the city district of Sypin ).
