Biography
Born March 8, 1973 in Hodonin. He spent his childhood and youth with his parents in the city of Kromeriz , where he graduated from high school.
In 1995 he defended his master's work at the Faculty of Education of the University of Prague in Olomouc in the specialties of mathematics and biology. At the same time he studied at the Orthodox Theological Faculty at the University of Presov .
Interrupting his studies, he left for Russia . In 1997 he was accepted into the fraternity of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra . On April 8 of the same year, the monastery was tonsured with the name Joachim , and on December 18, Bishop of Olomouc and Brno Christopher (Pulec) in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra was ordained to the rank of hierarch . During his stay at the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, he studied for two years at the Moscow Theological Academy . March 28, 1999 in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra ordained hieromonk .
In 2003, he was appointed governor of the monastery in honor of the martyr Gorazd of Bohemian in Hrub Vrbka . In 2006, he was elevated to the rank of archimandrite . February 14, 2009 in the temple of St. Gorazd in Olomouc held his ordination as bishop of Hodoninski, vicar of the Olomouc diocese . In December 2018, Archbishop Berounsky announced the non-recognition of the outcome of the so-called " unifying council " in Ukraine and spoke in support of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Onufrii. He said that Onufriy is the "Only Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine. I don’t know others. Many summers, Your Beatitude!" [3]
