Alexander Semenovich Levenbuk (born July 20, 1933 , Moscow ) is a Soviet , Russian actor , theater director . Since 1987, he has been the artistic director of the Shalom Theater in Moscow . Member of the Public Council of the Russian Jewish Congress .

Biography
Born July 20, 1933 in Moscow .
He studied at the 1st Moscow Medical Institute , where he participated in student amateur art . His duet with Alexander Livshits , with whom they worked for many years, developed there. After graduating from the institute in 1957, he became an artist of Mosestrada. Over the years, the program of performances by A. Levenbuk and A. Livshits included works by Korney Chukovsky , Samuel Marshak , Sergei Mikhalkov , Arkady Hayt , Eduard Uspensky , Daniil Kharms , Boris Zakhoder . Their performing style was distinguished by a high culture of speech and masterly mastery of the technique of synchronous reading. They successfully toured the country, and in 1960 they became laureates of the All-Union Pop Art Competition.
In 1965, 16-year-old Alla Pugacheva debuted on the professional stage in the musical-humorous program of Alexander Livshits and Alexander Levenbuk, “Puff-puff” with the song by composer Levon Merabov to poetry by the poet Mikhail Tanich “Robot”.
Since 1970, Levenbuk, Livshits and Nikolai Litvinov have been leading the popular children's educational program " Baby Monitor ", where the rules of grammar, mathematics, good behavior were explained in a joking manner.
In the 1980s, he began working on the stage as a director in collaboration with the writer Arkady Hight . Among his performances are “Kind word and a cat is nice” for Evgeny Petrosyan and “Is there an extra ticket?” For Vladimir Vinokur .
In 1985, he staged the play “Tum Balalaika” at the Hebrew Chamber Musical Theater based on the play Height, which was later shown in the USA , where he performed on the Broadway stage.
Since 1988, Alexander Levenbuk has been the head of the Shalom Moscow Jewish Theater . In addition to directing , he was also engaged as an actor in the performances of The Enchanted Theater, Yankel, Take and Kadyr, Novella Sevela, Four Suitcases at Sheremetyevo-2, and Nationality? Yes!".
