Veniamin Savelyevich Talba ( Ukrainian. Veniamin Saveliyovich Tolba ; 1909 - 1984 ) - Ukrainian Soviet conductor and music teacher ; People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1957). Winner of the Stalin Prize of the second degree ( 1949 ).

Biography
V.S. Tolba was born on October 30 ( November 12 ), 1909 in Kharkov (now Ukraine ). From 1926 to 1928 he studied at the Leningrad Central Musical Technical School under P. B. Ryazanov . [1] In 1932 he graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Music and Drama in the class of S. S. Bogatyryov (composition) and Ya. A. Rosenstein (conducting). He also attended higher conducting courses in Kharkov, where he studied with G. B. Adler [2] .
He began his musical career as a violinist in a symphony orchestra Kharkiv First Mobile Opera . Veniamin Tolba's conductor debut took place in 1928. In 1931–1941 (with a break) was the conductor of the Kharkov Opera, from 1944 to 1959 (with a break) - KUATOB T. Shevchenko . In 1932–1941 (with a break) he taught at the ChGK , and from 1946 to 1973 - at the Tchaikovsky State Conservancy Committee. Professor (1962).
From 1944 to 1984, Benjamin Tolba lived in Kiev at Pushkinskaya Street 21. At present, a memorial plaque is installed on this house [3] .
V.S. Tolba died on April 13, 1984 in Kiev .
