Judges
The following judges were selected to work at the 2013 African Cup of Nations [8] .
| Judges | Assistant Judges |
|---|---|
Mohamed Benuza | Albdelhak Echiali |
Official Tournament Ball
The official ball of the African Nations Cup was made by Adidas and was named “Cuttle,” which means “success” in the language of a sesoto . The name was chosen by African fans via online voting, where it outpaced other options, Chania (light) and Motswako (a mixture) [9] .
Draw
The draw for the final tournament was held October 24, 2012 in Durban [10] [11] . The home team (South Africa) and the reigning champion (Zambia) were previously assigned to groups A and C, respectively [12] . The remaining 14 teams were ranked by rating based on the results of their performances at the last three African Nations Cup rallies - in 2008, 2010 and 2012. For each of the three last draws of the African Nations Cup, the following scoring system of the selected teams was adopted:
| Classification | Glasses |
|---|---|
| Winner | 7 |
| 2nd place | five |
| Semi final | 3 |
| Quarter finals | 2 |
| Group stage | one |
In addition, the following increased coefficient was given to each of the last three African Cup races:
- 2012 : points multiplied by 3.
- 2010 : points multiplied by 2.
- 2008 : points multiplied by 1.
The teams were then distributed into four baskets based on the ranking. Each team got one team from each basket [13] .

- Goal difference in matches between these teams;
- The number of goals scored in matches between these teams;
- Goal difference in all matches of the group;
- The number of goals scored in all matches of the group;
- The system of scoring for a fair game, taking into account the number of yellow and red cards;
- The draw held by the organizing committee.
