Career
Club
Pupil of the Tiraspol Sports School No. 4. The first coach is Joseph Frantsevich Kaiser. He began to play in the leading team of the Moldavian SSR " Nistru " [4] . In 1985 he made his debut for the main team, and so brightly that the hunting of the leading clubs began for the 17-year-old footballer. The Nistru coach Anatoly Polosin even drove Dobrovolsky to the Dynamo Kiev base, from where he fled. Dobrovolsky himself eventually chose the Moscow Dynamo , which he has been playing for since 1986.
In December 1990, entered into a 4-year contract with the Italian club Genoa . However, he could not speak for the team, since the deadline for applications for the season was October 6. Dobrovolsky was invited to play for the Spanish Castellon , after which he transferred on loan to the Swiss Servette . Before the 1992/93 season, he returned to Italy, where he participated in the first few games of the championship . However, the coach changed in the team - instead of Bruno Georgie came Luigi Mayfredi , who stopped putting Dobrovolsky in the squad, or sent him to play in an unusual position for the player - the left midfielder. The situation was aggravated by the fact that Dobrovolsky was seriously injured in a cup match against Ancona . Nevertheless, by the time the new coach arrived, he recovered, but, according to Mayfredi, could not compete with the Brazilian Branco , the Czech Skuhrava and the Dutchman van't Schip .
In December 1992, Dobrovolsky received an invitation from Marseille's Olympic , which he accepted without hesitation. It turned out that the invitation was from club president Bernard Tapi , and not from coach Raymond Gutals , who was surprised to see a new football player in training. Igor began his appearances for Olimpik in the main squad by playing against Valenciennes, but in the following games Gutals made it clear in every way that he did not count on Dobrovolsky and often left him on the bench [5] [6] . According to Dobrovolsky, the path to the main team was finally blocked by the February story with his flu illness and unwillingness to play in the calendar game of the French championship against Le Havre in the north of the country because of this. Dobrovolsky believed that entering the field at a body temperature of 39 degrees would only aggravate his condition, and he himself would not bring any benefit to the team. But these arguments were not accepted by Gutals and Tapi, after which he entered the field only occasionally [7] . As part of Olimpik, Dobrovolsky won the Champions League and the French championship , but later Olimpik was stripped of his title after a corruption scandal. Champions League final missed due to visa problems [8] .
In June 1993, after the lease term ended at Olimpik, he returned to Dynamo with the consent of Genoa, with whom he was contracted until 1995. Released in a Dynamo shirt on June 27, 1993 in a game against Moscow Lokomotiv and immediately with a captain's armband. The meeting ended in a draw 1-1, and Dobrovolsky spent on the field all 90 minutes.
In the 1994/95 season he played for Atletico Madrid .
In 1996, he signed a contract with Fortuna from Düsseldorf [9] .
Team
In 1988, along with Alexei Mikhaylichenko, became one of the two top scorers of the Summer Olympics in Seoul , including distinguished himself in the final match. He took part in the 1990 World Cup in Italy . In the match with Cameroon, he scored a goal, setting the final score in the match - 4: 0. The national team after the group stage dropped out of the further struggle, and this goal was the last goal of the USSR national team at the world championships. At the 1992 European Championships he became the author of the only goal of the CIS national team, scoring it against the then world champions and future winners of the silver medals of the German national team tournament.
He had every chance to go to the 1994 World Cup , but became one of the players of the Russian national team whose signature was under the “ Letter of Fourteen ”.

Under Dobrovolsky, “Dacia” for the first time in its history became the champion of the country, the owner of the Super Bowl, and also twice became the vice-champion [4] . The next club in the coaching career was Veris . In January 2015, he headed Sakhalin [13] , but after two matches left the club [14] for family reasons [15] . In April of the same year, for the second time in his career, he headed the Chisinau club Dacia [16] . The team’s first game under his leadership was the Moldova Cup semifinal, where Dacia defeated Tiraspol in the penalty shootout [17] [18] .
After the 2nd round of the 2015/16 national division, Dobrovolsky left the club [19] .
In December 2015, he again headed the national team of Moldova [20] , on December 31, 2017, the Football Federation of Moldova refused to renew the contract [21] . In January 2018, he returned for the third time to the Dacia club in Chisinau, the contract is designed for a year [22] [23] , but since the team withdrew from the 2018 championship, in March it became known that Dobrovolsky headed the Dynamo Tiraspol club Auto ” [24] .
