Biography
Born on November 1, 1957 in Batumi .
He graduated from Moscow State University. MV Lomonosov (Faculty of Economics). Candidate of Historical Sciences.
In his youth, seriously engaged in water polo, becoming the champion of the USSR and the master of sports of international class
1982-1989 - graduate student and junior researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies, USSR Academy of Sciences.
Since 1989 - Deputy General Director of the Soviet-Austrian JV Tekop.
Since 1991, he headed the Soviet-German joint venture "Marketing XXI".
1992-1993 - Deputy General Director of JSC "Trust", later - the president of the company "Biaros" [1] .
In 1994-1995 - presenter of programs on TV6 Moscow .
From 1995 to 1998, he was an investment consultant at OMPEOO OJSC [1] .
In 1998, he moved to the civil service, taking the post of first deputy governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Governor Alexander Lebed .
From 2000 to 2003 - Deputy Minister of Property Relations.
Since 2003 - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Volga pulp and paper mill [2] .

Art Projects
Social initiatives in the field of contemporary art Shalva Breus usually performs on behalf of the International Cultural Foundation Breus Foundation , created in 2007 (until 2013 - the foundation was called “ArtChronicle”)
- From 2006 to 2013 he was the publisher of the art chronicle Art Chronicle magazine, in August 2013 the publication was closed.
- In 2007, he initiated the creation of the Kandinsky Prize [4] , the Russian annual national award in the field of contemporary art .
- In 2012-2017, he worked on the creation of a private museum of modern art in the building of the Udarnik cinema in Moscow.
- Since 2013, the entrepreneur’s fund has been engaged in publishing.
In the framework of the BREUS publishing program published:
- The scientific work of Catherine Bobrinsky "Aliens?" , On the unofficial Soviet art ;
- a series of monographs "New Classics" about Boris Orlov , Eric Bulatov , Mikhail Roginsky , Viktor Pivovarov , Vitaly Komar and Alexander Melamide ;
- Mikhail Yampolsky 's book “The Picturesque Gnosis ” , which was awarded the Kandinsky Prize (2014) in the nomination “Scientific work. History and Theory of Contemporary Art ", about the work of the artist Grisha Bruskin;
- research by Valery Podoroga , laureate of the Kandinsky Prize 2015, about director Sergei Eisenstein;
They are preparing to publish a book of the series "New Classics" about Ilya and Emilia Kabakovs (June 2019), Ivan Chuikov (2020), Grisha Bruskin, Oleg Vasiliev, Leonid Sokov, Vladimir Yankilevsky and others.
