Two surnames of the Ragozins are entered in Gerbovnik:
- The offspring of Stepan Ievlevich Ragozin, who owned estates in 1635 (Coat of arms. Part VIII. No. 80).
- Ragozins, whose ancestors were granted estates in 1686 (Coat of arms. Part IV. No. 130) [2] .
The noble Rogozin family was introduced by the noble assembly in the VI, II and III parts of the noble genealogy of the books of the Tver , Vladimir , Voronezh , Moscow , Oryol , Ryazan , Saratov , Tambov , Tula , Kaluga [3] and Kursk provinces of the Russian Empire and was approved by the Heraldry of the Governing Government Senate in the ancient nobility [4] [5] .

Genesis and history
For the eternal remembrance, those who died in Starodub from the Lithuanians: Stefan and Timofey Ivanovich, Ivan Menshoy, Afanasy Vasilievich Ragoziny (1535) [6] are included in the synodic of the Moscow Assumption Kremlin Cathedral . The clerks of Ivan the Terrible were Matvey and Fyodor Ragoziny (1573) [7] . Ivan Stepanovich Rogozin - was the governor in Livny (1628), Gerasim Semenovich Ragozin - the captain and governor in the city of Sudzha (1664–?) [8] .
In the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, many representatives of the ramified Ragozin family served for several generations to the metropolitans and the Holy Patriarch . Fedor and Kuzma Rogozin were the clerks of the patriarch Filaret Nikitich [4] [5] , Semyon Nikitich Ragozin and his son Prokofy - the nobles of patriarch Joachim . In the list of patriarchal nobles and boyar children under the patriarch Adrian (1691) [9], 209 people are named in total, of which 16 are Ragozins (more - only Vsevolotsky , 22 people, and 17 Grigorovs ).

Coat of arms of the Ragozin family: the shield is divided horizontally into two parts, of which the upper arm in the blue field shows a Hand in gold Lats with a silver Saber. At the bottom, in a silver field, is a golden bread Sheaf.
On the shield a noble crowned helmet. Crest : three ostrich feathers. The mark on the shield is blue, lined with gold.

Coat of arms of the offspring of Stepan Ievlevich Ragozin: at the top of the shield, which has a green field, there is a golden cross and a red wavy strip (the Polish coat of arms of Kmit ) is shown diagonally from the upper right to the lower left corner. The shield is crowned with a noble helmet and a crown, on the surface of which, between the two golden horns, a lion running to the right is visible. The mark on the shield is green, lined with gold [10] .
