Title
Anthroponym name: from the pre-Christian Mordovian name (nickname) of Draka , or from metro Tark “place”; the definition of "old" indicates that there is a New Drakino.
Geography
Located on the river. Seitme , 30 km from the district center and the Kovylkino railway station.
History
It was founded around 1670 by immigrants from Temnikovsky county .
In the “List of Populated Places of the Penza Province” (1869), Old Drakino (Drakino) is a state village of 134 courtyards of the Narovchatsky district.

Near the village there are barrows ; spring "Keredyeshi" (natural monument).
People Associated with the Village
Old Drakino is the birthplace of one of the organizers of the Mordovian press, I. I. Moskovkin, deputy head of the Office of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Moldova - the head of the bailiff A. S. Petrushin, the new martyrs Elena Astashkina, Anastasia Kamaeva.
