Bilonog, Yuri Grigoryevich

Yuri Grigorievich Bilonog ( Ukrainian Yuriy Grigorovich Bilonog ; genus. March 9, 1974 , Belopolye , USSR ) - Ukrainian nuclear pusher. In 2004, he won gold at the Athens Olympics, but in 2012 was deprived of the doping award. Bilonog's gold passed to the American Adam Nelson , who showed the same result as the Bilonog (21 m 16 cm), but lost to the Ukrainian in the second result.

Biography

Born in the city of Belopil, Sumy region , USSR . He was engaged in the youth sports school of the city of Belopol, the first coach was Vladimir Belikov. In 2002, at the European Championships in Munich, he won a gold medal there, and a year later he won a bronze award at the World Championships in Paris. In Athens, at the Olympics, he became the Olympic champion, pushing the core at 21 m 16 cm. He also performed at the Olympics in Beijing. He currently lives in Odessa, but annually comes to athletics competitions in Belopol and gives awards to the winners of these competitions.

In December 2012, the IOC officially announced that illegal drugs were identified in a 2004 Yuri Bilonog doping test. In this regard, the IOC disqualified the athlete and deprived him of the gold medal of the 2004 Olympics [1] [2] .
