Located 27 km south of the district center of Main on the Gushcha River.

History

The village of Zagoskino of the Sengiley district of the Simbirsk province was founded at the end of the 17th century. The name of the first owners is Zagoskin . The old name Preobrazhenskoe is associated with the Church of the Transfiguration, built in the XVIII century. The new church was built in 1888 as a monument to 32 workers of the factory of the merchant Akchurin, who died during a fire. Since 1861, classes were held at the church in the winter. An elementary school in the village opened in 1870 with the assistance of I. N. Ulyanov . As a result of the peasant reform, the Zagoskin landowners, nobles (Stolypin, Sabaniny, Melgunov, Shilnikov, etc.) received 2154 dessiatins. arable land and almost the entire forest - 449 dess. In 1822, 3014 dessiatines accounted for the peasants of showers, so about 1 thousand dessiatins. peasants leased. Redemption payments from peasants amounted to about 10 thousand rubles a year. Half of the Zagoskin peasants were engaged in carpentry latrine, hired for mowing and harvesting grain in the Zavolzhsky provinces.

In 1913, in the village of Zagoskino (Preobrazhenskoye), there were 502 yards, 2413 residents (Russians), a wooden Transfiguration church built in 1888 (not preserved), a Zemstvo school (since 1870), 2 steam mills. At the village was the estate of the noblemen Shilnikovs.

Three families in the village owned mills, five households were engaged in beekeeping. Soviet power was established in 1918. The first agricultural cartel "Builder" was organized in 1929, in 1932 the collective farm "Plowman" appeared, later the collective farm "Red Dawn" appeared.
