23rd Street ( Eng. 23rd Street ) is one of the New York Metro stations located on the IND Sixth Avenue Line . The station is underground and is located at the intersection of 23rd Street and 6th Avenue . The station is served by two routes - F and M , and the second one works only on weekdays, except for late nights. This station and the neighboring one ( 14th Street ) are stations serving only local trains; there are only two on IND Sixth Avenue Line .

The station is combined with the PATH system station of the same name. It has two side platforms serving only local paths, and between the paths there are platforms and PATH paths fenced off from them. Express metro paths are lower. There is no mezzanine at the station.
The station is decorated with mosaics, the name of the station is traditionally represented on the mosaic, as well as on black plates with a white inscription. Plates are placed on some station poles.
