History
In Taiwan, a prominent politician and commander Chiang Kai-shek died and one of the monuments to the Kuomintang leader was to be a futuristic complex of houses in the form of flying saucers . 25 km from the capital in the early 1970s, construction began on concrete and durable fiberglass, which was to become the pinnacle of engineering at that time. In each of the "plates" you could climb the elegant marble staircase, and go down - directly into the ocean or pool on a water slide from the second floor. It was expected that the resort of Sanzhi will bring a lot of tourist money. But in the early 1980s, when the houses were already painted and prepared for delivery, an energy and credit crisis erupted in East Asia, and the real estate developer went bankrupt. In 1989, the project found new investors, but due to disagreements between them at the end of that year, the resumed construction was finally completed [3] .
In 2008, another fateful agreement was reached for Sanzhi. At the initiative of the authorities in New Taipei , the ghost resort town was destroyed, and the demolition of the complex began on December 29, 2008 [4] . In its place, they intend to set up a recreation park with a health center in a completely different architectural style.
As of the end of March 2018, this territory is a wasteland.
