Grebenac ( Serb. Grebenac , roman. Grebenaț , Hungarian. Gerebenc , German. Grebenatz ) is a village in Serbia , in the Bela Tsrkva community, in the South Banat region of the autonomous region of Vojvodina , in the historical and geographical region of Banat . According to the 2002 census of Serbia, 1017 residents lived in the village (according to the 1991 census - 1608 people).

History
Grebenac was first mentioned in 1341 as Herbenz . The name of the village has repeatedly changed. In 1722, the Ascension Church was built in the village [1] . Since the second half of the XVIII century, the main population is Romanians [2] .
Demographics
According to the 2002 census, in the village of Grebenac, 800 adult residents lived, whose average age was 42.0 years (40.7 years for men and 43.1 years for women). There are 340 households in the village, and the average number of residents in households is 2.99.
The village is inhabited mainly by Romanians . According to the results of the last three censuses, a decrease in the number of inhabitants is observed.
