Geography

The village is located in the steppe zone, in the upper reaches of the Rashevatka river basin.

Distance to the regional center : 92 km. Distance to the district center : 18 km.

History

The village was formed in the early twentieth century as a result of a change in status and the simultaneous renaming of the Kobelev farm. The village received its name in honor of the ataman of the Kuban Cossack army, Lieutenant General N. N. Karmalin [3] .

Until December 24, 1992, the village was part of the Prisadovo village council . On December 24, 1992, the Small Council of the Stavropol Territory Council of People’s Deputies decided “To establish a Karmalinovsky village council with a center in the village of Karmalinovskaya in the Novoaleksandrovsky district, separating it from the Prisadovo village council of the same region” [4] .

From 2004 [5] to May 1, 2017 [6] the village of Karmalinovskaya was formed as the only settlement in the Novoaleksandrovsky municipal district , transformed by combining all the abolished settlements into the Novoaleksandrovsky urban district [7] [8] .
