Biography

Pilberg Gustav Karlovich 1876 - 11/22/1919. From the peasants of Livland lips . A native of Verossky County. Got a home education. Commander of the Order of St. George 4 degrees . Wounds in the Lodz battle of Sochaczew 26-11-14 (moderate), under the Wlodawa station 04-08-15 (heavy - in the chest)

“The hero of the day of August 4 was Captain Pilberg, who rescued, at a critical moment of the battle, our 5th battery, which turned out to be in the field of rifle chains of the enemy. Having gathered around him everything that came to hand, since the reserves were no longer there, Captain Pilberg with a handful of grenadiers went over to the counterattack, discarded the stalking Germans and, thus, gave the battery the opportunity to cast in the front and withdraw from the position. During this counterattack, Captain Pilberg was severely wounded through the chest and dead and removed from the battlefield. For this case he was awarded Ord. St. George 4 degrees. From September 1918 in the Volunteer Army , he served in the 1st battalion and in the Combined Grenadier Team of the 1st Officer ( Markov ) Regiment. Wounded October 1, 1918 near Armavir in the hand of a rifle bullet. Deputy Commander of the Kuban Plastun Battalion, was treated in Ekaterinodar .
