Michele Lee ( born June 24, 1942) is an American actress, singer, producer and director, best known for playing the heroic Karen Mackenzie in the long-time prime time soap opera CBS Quiet Quay , where she starred from 1979 to 1993, appearing in all 344 episodes of the show. This role earned her an Emmy nomination in 1982, as well as five Soap Opera Digest awards. In addition, Lee performed on the Broadway stage, twice nominated for " Tony ." Her contribution to television was marked by a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .

Life and career
Lee was born in Los Angeles , California . It has Russian, Hungarian and Polish roots [1] . Michelle made her debut in the movie " How to Succeed in Business Without Doing Nothing, " then achieved success in the films Baby in Love (1968) and Comedian (1969), both of which were successful at the box office. In 1974, she received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in the musical Seesaw .
Michelle Lee is best known for her role in the series Quiet Pier , which became one of the longest dramas on television, having lived for 14 seasons: from 1979 to 1993. For a long time, the actress held a record for playing one character in prime time for 14 years, but in 2008, Epata Merkerson moved her from this place. Lee received an Emmy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Drama TV Series in 1982, and also won several more awards.
When the series ended, Lee starred in several television-made films. She starred in the biographical film Big Dreams and Broken Hearts: The Story of Dottie West in 1994, as well as in the drama My Favorite Tone in 1996. In 2000, the actress appeared on the screens only twice: in the film “ And here is Polly ” in 2004, and a year later in the sitcom “ Will and Grace ”. She returned to Broadway with the play The Tale of the Allergists Wife , receiving another nomination for Tony [2] .
In 1998, Lee was awarded her own star on the " Hollywood Walk of Fame" " [3] .
