Located in the Gulf of Ob, 200 km from Pangod, near the national village of Nyda .
Since 1966, the village of Numga has been the base for the branch of the Nadym Exploration Drilling Expedition, OJSC Yamalneftegazgeologiya. According to the district law “On the abolition of the village of Numga of the Nydinsky village council of the Nadym region of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug” adopted by the State Duma of Yamal, Numga were resettled in 2001.
By 2000, the Yamalneftegazgeologiya enterprise was declared bankrupt and laid off its employees living in the village of Numga. People were left without work, and accordingly without a livelihood. In addition, the administration of the joint-stock company decided to terminate its responsibilities for the operation of housing, social welfare facilities and energy supply of the village. In the circumstances, without legal grounds to take the objects of this village into municipal ownership, the Nadym administration decided to operate life support facilities so that people would not be left without heat, electricity and water. In March 2001, a special interdepartmental commission drew up an act stating that the boiler room is completely unsuitable for operation, and external networks are also completely unsuitable for operation.
