Biography

Diana Sergeevna Berestovskaya was born on May 26, 1934 in the city of Voronezh. Father, Sergei Stepanovich Berestovsky, a typographer, in the early 1930s was sent from Simferopol to Voronezh on the problems of Soyuzbumsbyt [1] [2] . In 1940, the family returned to Simferopol , where in 1951 Diana Sergeyevna graduated from the First High School named after K. D. Ushinsky [1] . In 1956 she graduated from the philological department of Voronezh State University with a degree in Russian philology [3] .

She began her career as a teacher of Russian language and literature in schools in the city of Simferopol, then as head teacher and deputy director (1956-1969). At the same time, she was writing a candidate dissertation, which she defended in 1972 at the All-Union Pedagogical Institute. V.I. Lenin (Moscow). She worked at the Simferopol Higher Military-Political School , where she went from a senior teacher to a professor. Since 1969, he has been a senior lecturer, and since 1976, an assistant professor at the Department of Philosophy of Simferopol Higher Military-Political School.

D. S. Berestovskaya defended two dissertations: in 1972 - candidate (candidate of philological sciences); in 1990 - doctoral (Doctor of Philosophy). In 1992, the title of professor was awarded. The topic of his doctoral dissertation is “Philosophical and ethical analysis of the categories of heroic and tragic writers of the front generation in contemporary fiction”. Three monographs were published on this topic, the last in 2005, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Since 1960, D. S. Berestovskaya has been associated with Simferopol State University. M.V. Frunze, since 1994 worked as a professor in the department of Ukrainian and foreign culture. Since 1996, is the head of the Department of Cultural Studies at Taurida National University. V.I. Vernadsky.

For ten years (1998-2009) D.S. Berestovskaya headed, and now is a member of the humanitarian direction of the Crimean Scientific Center of the NAS of Ukraine . In 2001-2009, he was the head of the section "Culture and Education" of the International Symposium "Man and the Christian Worldview." Since 1997 - Deputy Chairman of the Editorial Board of the magazine “Culture of the Black Sea Peoples”. Since 2007 - Deputy Chairman of the Simferopol Public Council of the scientific and practical journal “Personality. The culture. Society". Member of the editorial board of a number of scientific journals. Organizer of scientific readings "The culture of the peoples of the Black Sea from ancient times to the present day." Member of specialized academic councils for the defense of doctoral dissertations - philosophical and philological, from the moment of their organization. Full member of the European Academy of Natural Sciences (Hanover, Germany). Since 2008 - Chairman of the Specialized Scientific Council for the defense of dissertations for the title of candidate of cultural science. Under the guidance of Professor D. S. Berestovskaya, she defended her doctoral and 17 master's theses.

In 2000, on the initiative of D. S. Berestovskaya and with the support of the rector of TNU. V. I. Vernadsky, Academician N. V. Bagrov, the specialty "Cultural Studies" was opened at the Faculty of Philosophy of TNU named after V.I. Vernadsky.

His research interests include cultural studies, cultural philosophy, the synthesis of arts, the aesthetics of Russian religious philosophers at the beginning of the 20th century, and the culture of the peoples of Crimea and Ukraine.

Proceedings

During the period of pedagogical activity in higher educational institutions, she published a number of textbooks on cultural problems. Among them:

  • "World and domestic culture" (1993)
  • “Ukrainian and foreign culture” (1997)
  • "Ancient art culture" (2003 and 2011)
  • “History of the formation and development of the philosophy of culture” (2006)
  • “Thinkers of the 20th Century on Culture” (2010)
  • “Synthesis of Arts in Artistic Culture” (2010)
  • “The History of the Artistic Culture of Western Europe and the USA of the 20th Century” (2011) and others.

The book “Culturology”, which has the signature stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (07/09/03 No. 1/11 - 2861) and withstood two editions (2003 and 2005), was a great work.

More than a hundred articles were published in various collections, almanacs, magazines, including publications of the Higher Attestation Commission.

In 2008, the anniversary collection of the magazine Culture of the Black Sea Peoples - D. Berestovskaya - was published. Selected articles. Philosophy. Culturology. Philology. - 2008. - No. 150. - 130 p.
