Biography
The princess was born in the family of Prince Victor II of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoymsky and his wife Amalia Nassau-Weilburg. She had three sisters: Adelheid , Ida and Emma .
On August 30, 1815, the princess married the 39-year-old Archduke Joseph of Austria , the Palatine of Hungary . She became his second wife after the death of Grand Duchess Alexandra Pavlovna , the first wife of Joseph. Germina died at the age of 19, during the birth of twins. On August 24, 1819, her husband entered into a third marriage with Princess Wurttemberg Maria Dorothea .
