Vitim (radar station)

"Vitim" is a Russian project of a stationary over -the- horizon radar station of a long range of the decimeter wave range. It is positioned as a means of continuous monitoring of the aerospace situation. It provides detection, tracking and classification of ballistic, space and aerodynamic objects.

Determines the coordinates and movement parameters of ballistic missiles, warheads , satellites and ADCs passing through the observation zone; classification of targets accompanied by the signs of "BR", "satellite" (artificial earth satellites), "ADC" (aerodynamic targets). This is detection, tracking, determination of radiation characteristics, trajectory parameters and areas of incidence of active interference sources emitting in the operating radar range of the Vitim radar, as well as the generation of standard messages and the issuance of information to the consumer about detected and accompanied targets and sources of interference.
