Story

Two 14-year-olds, Flam (Daniel Miranda) and Moko (Diego Catagno), friends since childhood, are forced to spend Sunday in an apartment without parents. To do this, they have video games, porn magazines, soft drinks and pizza to order. But the course of a boring weekend is disrupted either by the electric networks, then by the neighbor Rita (Danny Perea), then by the pizza delivery man (Enrique Arreola), then by the terrible ducks in the picture and leads to serious conversations about the divorce of parents, loneliness, a mixture of love and friendship and disappointment in adulthood .

Criticism Reviews

  • Diego Martinez Picasso (Cinefreaks.com.ar): “Duck Season” is Fernando Eimbke’s cute and extremely versatile debut, shot with a minimal budget on flawless black and white film ... Nothing tragic, insoluble, and fortunately, with a lot of humor. [2]
  • Richard Props (The Independent Critic): “Funny, but the Duck Season is not recommended for children under sixteen because of swearing, marijuana and kissing scenes. But there is nothing in the film that most 14-year-olds would not meet in ordinary life. This is a good film that tries to reach a height and almost reaches it. In the sense of his meaninglessness, he enjoys this senselessness, reaching the point - is there any sense in it. ” [3]
  • Richard Stracke (examiner.com): “Contrasting black and white urban photography and Rancid -style T-shirts may be reminiscent of Jarmusch ’s early work, but Eimbcke’s debut is closer to a more realistic and kind approach to teen comedies that John made his name for Hughes There is no prolonged boredom or inherent hippie irony. These children deal with their lives and emotions the way they know how. This is not a sugary sweet movie. But he does not flounder in pity. According to Janelle Monet, who became immortal: “if you are high or low, go down the rope on toes.” ” [4]
