Competition History
The CART series competition at the Rodriguez Brothers Autodrome in Mexico City was first held in 1980 and lasted two years on the calendar of the series.
Two decades later, the race returned to the championship calendar, becoming a traditional stage in the final part of the season. The competition in Mexico lasted on the calendar of the series until its last full season.
Stages of different years
The most winning pilot in the history of the prize is the Frenchman Sebastien Burde , who won three times in Mexico City . Two victories on the account of the American Rick Mirza .
Five of the eight races submitted to the riders who became champions of the series that year. The three pilots who won the race and did not win the title were Rick Mirz , Kenny Braque and Justin Wilson .
The best achievement of Mexican pilots in the home race is the third place won by Mario Dominguez in 2003.
