Furniture is a furniture product made of a uniform material by name and brand [1] , for example: a leg made of solid wood, a wall made of wood-fiber board , a seat made of plywood, a flooring layer (made of polyurethane foam, foam rubber ), lining ( veneer , furniture fabrics, leather substitutes, paper, plastic ), a box of stamped metal or molded plastic, a shelf of glass, a spring of steel wire, a metal square [2] .

By type of furniture details are divided into [1] [3] :
- The main parts are the parts that form the body or frame of the product and its component parts, or perform the main function of the product, as well as supporting elements.
- Facing parts - parts made of plastic or rolled materials, covering the surfaces of other parts ( assembly units ) in order to improve their properties or appearance.
- Connecting parts - details with the help of which various types of connections are formed.
- Fixing parts - parts that fix the position or limit the movement of other parts (assembly units) in products.
- Decorative parts - parts installed on the front surfaces of furniture products, giving artistic features to the appearance of products.

Materials
Furniture parts can be made from:
- wood (example: a coniferous timber frame)
- wood and polymeric materials (example: board made of chipboard , plywood , polyurethane flooring )
- metal
- glass (example: glass shelf )
- fabrics (example: fabric lining )
- skins , etc.
