Construction
The propulsion system consists of a single-chamber rocket engine. The supply of fuel and oxidizer to the engine is pressure, the tank is inflated with compressed nitrogen . In addition, compressed nitrogen is used in the control circuits of automation units.
Modifications
S2.253A - modification of the engine for the ballistic missile submarines R-11FM created in 1953-1959.
Also, S2.253 on the fuel pair, liquid oxygen / kerosene, was proposed for installation on the first stage of the experimental cruise missile “ESR” by the design bureau S. P. Korolev.
