Kuyavians, Kuyavians ( Kujawiacy, Kujawiani e) - a West Slavic tribe that lived between the middle reaches of the Vistula River and the upper reaches of the river. Notets , mainly in the area of Lake Goplo [1] and the chain of lakes associated with the river Notets . In the X century, Kuyavs became part of a single Polish nation .
Kujawа is a kind of fruitful land, from there the name Kujawianie (kuyavane) resembles.
The records about this name date back to the XII century, but the territory of the tribe and before that was the scene of important historical events. According to legend, it was at Lake Goplo that the Polish state was born. Also, the adoption of Sack I of Christianity in the Latin rite in 966 is associated with these places. Kuyawia (Polish: Kujawy) is a historical region in northern Poland . Currently, Kuyavia is part of the territory of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship .
