Two Hundred Movement

The movement of two hundred workers is one of the forms of socialist competition, expressed in an increase in output (up to 200% of the plan). It originated in the prewar years. It gained scope during the war years (1941–45) in factories under the slogan: “Work for yourself and for a comrade who has gone to the front!”

The initiator of the movement was the young workers-Komsomol members of industrial enterprises: in Gorky - F. M. Bukin (machine-building plant), V. F. Shubin (car factory). Workers of state farms and MTS became two hundred workers. The movement of two hundred people grew into the movement of three hundred people, five hundred people , the movement of one thousand people . It opened up huge new reserves for the development of the military economy.
