Biography
Born in the famous Kiev Lutheran Bunge family. Father Georg-Friedrich Bunge (1722-1793), a native of East Prussia, who moved to Kiev in the middle of the 18th century and kept a pharmacy there. The family had 4 sons: Ivan-Friedrich, Andrew, Christian and Christopher [1] .
He graduated from the Kiev-Mohyla Academy , then continued his studies at the St. Petersburg Medical and Surgical Institute , which he graduated in 1796. He improved at the University of Jena . In 1798 he defended his doctoral dissertation "On Epidemic Diseases in Kiev."
Since 1802 he worked in Kiev, in particular at the Kiev-Mohyla Academy, at the same time taught in other educational institutions. Had a private practice.
In 1812 - the resident of the Kiev military hospital.
Significantly improved the equipment of the academic hospital with equipment, tools and medicines. In the summer, together with students of the Academy, he collected medicinal plants for the hospital in the vicinity of Kiev. In 1831, the system of preventive measures introduced by him helped prevent the spread of cholera among students of the Kiev-Mohyla Academy.
For excellent service, he was bestowed first in the court advisers, and then in the college. Leaving the service of his own free will, he received a reward of distinction of the immaculate service for thirty years and as a nobleman was “adorned in 1814 with a bronze medal on the Vladimir ribbon and received a certificate that he performed this post diligently and diligently” [1] .
He was buried in Kiev, in the family tomb at the Baykovsky cemetery , destroyed in the 1930s.
Family
He was married twice:
- from his first marriage there were two daughters and a son, Andrew
- from his second brother on Ekaterina Nikolaevna (nee Gebner, widow of Colonel Izyumov) [1] had a son:
- Nicholas - Actual Privy Councilor (1885). In 1881-1886 - Minister of Finance; in 1887-1895 - Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.
