Life and career
Bart was born in Norwalk , Connecticut , into a family of teacher and chemical engineer, and grew up in New Jersey [1] . Bart achieved the greatest fame for his performance on the Broadway stage. He made his debut in 1987 in the musical Big River , and later achieved greater recognition for his work in the musicals King David , Triumph of Love and " " with Christine Chenovet , who brought him the Tony and Drama Desk "in 1999. His next project was the musical The Producers , which again brought him nominations for Tony and Drama Desk . In 2004, he performed at the musical The Frogs at Lincoln Center .
In 1997, he performed the title track "Go the Distance" for the film " Hercules, " which was nominated for an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award.
On television, Bart was best known for playing the role of George Williams, the mentally abnormal boyfriend Bree Van de Camp in the series Desperate Housewives , which earned him the 2006 Film Actors Guild Award in the United States [2] . His other television appearances include roles in Law and Order: Special Enclosure , Studio 30 , The Lost Room, CSI: Miami Crime Scene , and Medium . He also starred in films such as Stepford Wives , Producers , Hostel 2 , Gangster , Thomas the Unbeliever , Harold and Kumar 2: Escape from Guantanamo , Midnight Express , and Law-abiding Citizen .
In 2007, Bart starred in the musical of Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein . He starred in the series " Event " in 2011, and in 2012 was a guest star in several episodes of the series " Revenge ", and also starred in the mini-series " Political Animals ".
