Content

Biography

Born in Saratov [1] (in some sources, the place of birth indicates the village of Arzhenka of the Tambov province [2] ). In 1911 he graduated from the Art College in Kazan. In 1922 he graduated from the Petrograd VKhUTEMAS in the workshop of D. N. Kardovsky with the title of artist of painting [3] . He participated in exhibitions since 1915. He painted landscapes, portraits, genre and thematic compositions. Member and exhibitor of the Community of Artists, Society of Artists named after A. I. Kuindzhi, AHRR, RABIS. Since 1932 a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. He worked under contracts with Lenizo [4] . He died in 1942 from starvation to the blockade. His works are in the State Russian Museum , in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
