Biography
In 1922 he graduated from the Moscow Higher Technical School. In 1925-1929 he worked as a senior engineer at the Moscow Interurban Telephone Exchange. In the twenties of the XX century I.E. Goron actively participated in the introduction of sound broadcasting in the USSR. In 1929, he was appointed head of the Moscow Broadcasting Technical Center. For the first time in the world, he conceived and implemented a centralized broadcasting system that includes the main components of modern sound broadcasting systems, and he personally developed an automated switching and distribution hardware for sound broadcasting signals - the basis of a long-distance broadcast network.
He took an active part in the creation of the country's first 30-line mechanical television system, which allowed starting regular broadcasts from the studio on ul. Nikolskaya in Moscow. In 1935, he demonstrated on the stage of the October Hall of the House of Unions in Moscow the first three-channel stereo system in the USSR. Since 1938 - the chief engineer of the State Recording House, in the design of which he participated since 1934.
In 1946 he was appointed director of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Sound Recording (now VNIITR). He led the design and commissioning of large facilities of broadcasting technology, including the hardware of the Moscow broadcasting center, the world's first simultaneous interpretation system (for the VI Congress of the Comintern).
The main scientific works are related to the study of stereo broadcasting systems, the development of the country's first tape recorders, video recorders, automatic transponders, using the principles of ferrography and magnetic flaw detection in industry.
In 1930-1960 Under his leadership, pioneering work was carried out on the restoration of a number of historical recordings made by purely acoustic devices (eliminating cracks, reducing noise, restoring the original voice timbre, its dynamics). The team of performers of this work was awarded the USSR State Prize.
From 1928 to 1982 he taught and conducted scientific work at the Moscow Electrotechnical Institute of Communications , founded and for a long time headed the department of broadcasting and acoustics. Under the guidance of I.E. Goron, a complex of works was also carried out to determine the noticeability of distortions and interference at all links of the path and to normalize the parameters of channels and sound broadcasting paths. The author of a large number of scientific publications. Member of the editorial board of the magazines Radio Amateur, Electrosvyaz, and since 1953 deputy editor-in-chief of the journal Radio Engineering.
Isaac Evseevich was the recognized patriarch of Russian magnetic recording. He wrote his works, especially textbooks (the most famous textbooks on broadcasting of 1944 and 1979), with utmost care for the reader, carefully checking all the provisions. Many thousands of specialists in Russia and abroad consider themselves to be his students. He is remembered as a Man who tried not to bring harm, to help others, to transfer his knowledge to students, colleagues.
