Biography

Parents put Trevor for the first time on the ice when he was 1 year old. He has been playing hockey since he was four years old. In the third grade of the school, he switched to running skates.

In 2004, doing short track, he was seriously injured. An opponent along the track, slipping, cut Trevor's leg with a blade of a ridge to the bone, as a result of which he lost half of his blood and was on the verge of death. After this incident, Marsicano stopped doing short track, focusing on the big oval while running. [one]

In 2007, he became the bronze medalist of the World Junior Championships in all-around. In 2008, he finished third in the North American Championship.

He won four medals at the 2009 World Individual Distance Championships in Vancouver. Won 1,000 meters, became second at 1,500 m and won bronze at 5,000 m in the team race.

At the Olympic Games in Vancouver participated in four races. In the individual program, he could not show above 10th place at 1000m. He was 15th at 1500m and 14th at 5000m. In the team race he became a silver medalist together with Chad Hedrick , Jonathan Cook and Brian Hansen.

In 2011, he became the world champion in a team race.

At the beginning of the season 2011/2012 could not show decent seconds. In late December, announced the early end of the season due to overtraining. [2]

On March 6, 2009, in the 2008/2009 World Cup final in Salt Lake City, he ran in the second pair at a distance of 1000 meters and broke the world record of Pekke Koskela (1: 07.00), becoming the first skater to run this distance faster than 1 minute and 7 seconds, showing the time 1: 06.88.
