Vardanjan [1] [2] [3] , or Vardangun [1] [2] , or Vardanian [1] [2] ( Persian وردنجان ) is a small town in the south-west of Iran , in the provinces of Chekharmekhal and Bakhtiaria . It is part of the Shahrestan Shahre Kord . As of 2006, the population was 4,262 people [3] .

Geography
The city is located in the northern part of Chekharmarhal and Bakhtiaria, in the highlands of central Zagros , at an altitude of 2 136 meters above sea level [1] . Vardanjan is located approximately 35 kilometers northwest of Shehre Kord , the provincial capital, and 355 kilometers south of Tehran , the country's capital.
