“The Savior Not Made by Hands” is a Novgorod icon of the 12th century in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery (inv. 14245). This is a two-sided remote icon, on the front side of which the image of Jesus Christ is written in the iconography of the Savior Not Made by Hands “on the cranium”, and on the back is the scene of the Glorification of the Cross .

The work comes from the Assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin . But initially, as G.I. Vzdornov established , it comes from the Novgorod wooden church of St. The image erected by the Entry Nezdinich in 1191 [1] [2] .
