Who is Who (from the English - “Who is who”) is a series of biographical encyclopedias of famous personalities in various countries.
History
- 1849 - the first edition of “Who is Who” appears in England. The 250 pages of the encyclopedia describe the life of the royal family and the higher nobility.
- 1951 - publisher Stefan Zabo-Taylor enters the market with the idea of publishing his encyclopedia “Who is Who” for every European country. The European Encyclopedia (originally English) is supplemented by Who's Who in Austria.
- 1978 - Hübner, Ralph begins to publish a new encyclopedia in German. This publication is becoming regular.
- 1989 - The encyclopedia “Who is Who in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland” starts.
- 2007 - the release of “Who is Who in Russia” (Russia) and “Who is Who Türkiye” (Turkey) starts.
