Two surnames of the Afremovs are entered in Gerbovnik:
- The offspring of Naum Afremov, granted a letter in 1624 (Coat of arms. Part VI. No. 58).
- Descendants of Dementy Naumovich Afremov, granted by estates in 1678 (Coat of arms. Part X. No. 81) [1] .
Ivan Ofremov , the ancestor of the noble family, served in the oprichnina [2] . His son, Naum Ivanovich , was a siege governor in the city of Tula (1618-1620). Of the three grandchildren, two of him - Ivan and Timofey Gavrilovichi were killed during the Russo-Polish war in the battle of Konotop in 1659 . His great-grandson, Gavrila Ivanovich Ofremov , was a steward (1692). Grigory Timofeevich Ofremov Moscow nobleman (1679-1692) [3] . This genus of Afremov was recorded in the VI part of the genealogy book of the Tula province of Russia [4] .
- Ivan Fedorovich (1794-1866) - Tula historian-local historian.
Another ancient noble family of this family name was inscribed by the Provincial Noble Assembly in the VI part of the noble genealogy of the Moscow province [5] of the Russian Empire . An ancestor of this kind, Dementy Naumovich , served in Mtsensk and was built estates (1678) [6] [4] .

Coat of arms of the descendants of Naum Ivanovich Afremov: in the shield, which has a blue field, two silver swords are placed crosswise, with their points upwards; above these swords a golden hexagonal star is depicted, and at the bottom of the same metal an arrow flying to the left.
On the shield a noble crowned helmet. Crest: bird with a branch in its beak. The mark on the shield is blue, lined with gold. Shield holders: two lions with one sword in their paws [7] .

Coat of arms of the offspring of Dementy Naumovich Afremov: in a shield divided into three parts: in the first voluminous field in a gold field, a natural-colored fortress, in the second part in a red field a silver sword, with its point turned upwards, and in the third part in a blue field a gun.
The shield is crowned with a noble helmet with a noble crown on it, from which you can see the outgoing lion of a natural color, holding a sword in his right paw. The bastard on the shield is gold, blue on the right and red on the left [8] .
