The history of the genus of this family dates back to the beginning of the 17th century . The provincial nobility deputy assembly recorded the Shchelins in the VI part of the noble genealogy of the Tula province of the Russian Empire and was approved by the Herald of the Governing Senate in the ancient (pillar) nobility [1] .

Emblem Description

On the shield, divided perpendicularly in two, in the right half, in the red field, there is a warrior in silver armor holding a spear, and in the left half, in the blue field, there is a golden crescent, with horns facing the silver hexagonal star, and under them, in a silver field, a black bear walking on the ground to the right.

On the shield a noble crowned helmet. Crest: Leaving hand with a sword. The mark on the shield is red, lined with silver. The coat of arms of the noble family of the Shchelins was recorded in Part VII of the General Armorial of the noble families of the All-Russian Empire , p. 65 [2] .
