The station was opened on June 2, 1917 , and until April 15, 1918 , the station was the northern endpoint on the line. Between this and the next station - Bedford Park Boulevard - Lehman College , the path to the Concourse Depot departs. Three routes pass through the station - two local and one express train, which is used today by trains leaving at the Jerome depot during rush hours after passengers disembark at Burnside Avenue Station . Close to the station is the Kingsbridge Arsenal building.
