History
The first settlement on the territory of La Libertad was founded in 1770 . In 1869, 266 people lived in the village. On August 23, 1957, the village received city status.
Geographical position
The city center is located at an altitude of 30 m above sea level [1] .
Economics
La Libertad is a major tourist center, most of the city’s population is involved in the services sector.
