Biography
Born on March 17, 1947, V. N. Paimushin is one of the country's leading mechanical scientists, widely known to world science in its respective fields. Among his students are more than 30 candidates and 8 doctors of sciences.
Scientific direction
His scientific activity is mainly related to fundamental and applied research on the problems of mechanics of deformable solids and thin-walled structures, the development of numerical and analytical methods for solving problems and the problems of their implementation on computers .
He developed refined versions of the theory of laminated plates and shells. Fundamental of these are the theories of three-layer and multilayer shells with layers of variable thickness, constructed with the correct consideration of all the main features of a geometric and physico-mechanical nature, as well as a refined theory of stability of three-layer structural elements.
In the field of applied and computational mathematics, V.N. surface theory and shell mechanics.
He also developed fundamentally new approaches to the creation of methods for the strength analysis of complex engineering structures and structures based on distributed and parallel computing systems based on a comprehensive solution to the problems of computational geometry, mathematics, mechanics of deformable solids and computer science.
The results of fundamental research by V. N. Paimushin also have a pronounced practical orientation. On their basis, together with students and followers, he developed methods and software for the strength analysis of structural optics products of aircraft, propeller blades and many other special-purpose products. The use of these results made it possible to provide full scientific support for the design and construction of an extra-class bridge crossing over the river. Kama village Forty Mountains of the Republic of Tatarstan, tunnels and metro stations in Kazan, reconstruction and development of a project for the restoration of a bridge across the river. Kazanka. The series of research works " Mathematical modeling in bridge construction with applications for the reconstruction of the bridge across the river. Kazanka and design and construction of a bridge across the river. Kama ”, carried out under the guidance of V. N. Paimushin, in 2004 was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of science and technology.
V.N. Paimushin is the author of more than 350 scientific articles and 6 monographs.
