At the 1976 Olympics in Innsbruck , she won a bronze medal in the relay and also ranked 16th in the 5 km race and 12th in the 10 km race.

At the 1974 World Championships in Falun, she won bronze in the relay race.

She won the GDR Championships three times, in a 5 km race in 1974 and in a 10 km race in 1973 and 1975.
