The current coat of arms of the Vereshchaginsky district was approved by the decision of the Zemsky Assembly of the Vereshchaginsky district of October 26, 2006 No. 28/336 "On the Regulation" On the coat of arms of the municipal government "Vereshchaginsky municipal district" "and entered into the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation with the assignment of registration number 2940.

Heraldic description of the coat of arms
| In a dissected green and scarlet (red) field there is a golden sheaf, followed by two silver thread-like bandages on the sides and below in the green, in the scarlet - two indirectly emerging from the bottom right and inscribed with gold brushes for painting. |
Symbols
- gold brushes for painting symbolize the fact that the name "Vereshchaginsky municipal district" comes from the name of the famous Russian artist V.V. Vereshchagin ;
- silver threads symbolize the railway , the Trans-Siberian Railway , which became the basis for the development of the economy and culture of the region at the turn of the XIX - XX centuries ;
- a golden sheaf and a green field - symbols of fertility and wealth of nature of the region;
- six ears that make up a sheaf and united by one common band indicate the number of rural settlements located on its territory;
- gold symbolizes strength, greatness, intelligence, generosity, wealth;
- silver is a symbol of perfection, wisdom, nobility, peace and mutual cooperation;
- red color - a symbol of courage, selflessness, labor, life-affirming power, holiday, beauty;
- green color symbolizes life, abundance, revival, shows the forest and agricultural wealth of the area.
