History
The team was created in collaboration with the leading Russian team, Team Katusha , on the basis of the national track team and the second-tier racers Katyusha and its farm-club Itera-Katyusha [2] [3] called RusVelo. It was led by German experts, the leadership included the champion of the country in the 2002 group race, Oleg Grishkin . Like the elite Russian team, RusVelo was registered in Switzerland [4] . In November 2011, the team won by a large margin in the pursuit at the first stage of the World Cup in Astana [5] . In winter, the highway team received the second oldest license - professional continental. In addition to the men's with exclusively Russian racers, a women's team was created, which included three Germans [6] . On February 21, 2012, a presentation of both project teams took place in Mallorca [7] .
In January 2013, the men's team received a professional continental license (UCI Professional Continental Team) [8] .
At the end of the 2014 and 2015 season, she was in the Top 10 UCI Europe Tour .
In 2016, she changed her name to Gazprom-RusVelo with the arrival of a new title sponsor, the Russian transnational corporation PJSC Gazprom . [9] [10]
Gazprom-RusVelo is currently the only cycling team consisting only of Russian cyclists. [eleven]

In 2016, the Gazprom-Rusvelo team received an invitation from RCS Sport to participate in the Giro d'Italia super-race race. [12] The 2016 Giro became the first grand tour of the team’s assets and the results were not long in coming. Alexander Foliforov won at the 15th stage of the Italian race, opening an account of the victories of the team at the highest competitive level. [13]
In January 2017, the Russian Gazprom-RusVelo cycling team again received an invitation to the Italian Giro d'Italia super-multi-day race. In 2017, the "Giro" will be held in the jubilee for the hundredth time.
