Biography

Relative of Sophia Ryss and Ilya Berezark . [1] He spent his childhood in Rostov-on-Don , graduated from the second grade school in Leningrad. In 1924 (at the age of 16) he entered the Higher State Courses of Art History at the State Institute of Art History . He graduated from the three courses. Then he traveled a lot around the country, working in the newspapers of Vladikavkaz, Baku, Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent. Returning to Leningrad, he recovered at the institute, but did not complete his education, worked as a feuilletonist in the Red Evening Newspaper , from the beginning of the 1930s at the Theater of Komsomol Satire . From the mid-30s he also wrote prose.

He lived in Leningrad . Collaborated with the magazine " Star ".

During World War II, Yevgeny Ryss worked as a TASS correspondent.

After the war he settled in Moscow.

Creativity

He first appeared in literature in 1928 as a playwright with the comedy “Twenty One Danger” (together with Vsevolod Voevodin ).

The main theme of the works of E. Ryss is about toilers, courageous and honest people, about the activities of the investigation, prosecution, court, defense and the nature of their interaction. The author of historical adventure and detective books.
