Volcanoes
The Garuta Valley is surrounded by many volcanoes. The most famous of them is Galunggung : during his eruption in 1982, 60 people died, more than 35,000 were evacuated [1] ; significant damage was caused to agriculture and the region’s infrastructure. No less famous are the volcanoes of Talagabodas (2200 m) and Guntur (2250 m).
