Maria Louise of France ( July 15, 1737 - December 23, 1787 ) is a French princess, the youngest daughter of King Louis XV and Maria Leshchinsky . The court was known as Madame Louise .

Biography
Marie Louise, Princess of France, was born July 15, 1737 in Versailles . She was brought up with her sisters Sofia , Victoria and Teresa in the monastery of Fontevro . In 1768, there was the prospect of marrying Mary Louise to Karl Edward Stewart, the contender for the throne of England, Scotland and Ireland. The princess answered the prince's offer:
| “I am not for the husband, I am for Jesus Christ!” |
Maria Louise returned to Versailles in 1750 and lived there for the next 20 years, surviving all the events of the royal family. Her elder sister Henrietta died in her arms in 1752, her nephews and nieces were born, an attempt was made on her father in 1757, the construction of the Little Trianon , the death of her mother, Queen Maria Leshchinsky.
In 1770, to everyone's amazement, she asked her father to give her permission to become a nun. The father gave his consent and the princess went to the monastery of Saint-Denis , where she took the name of Augustine. A year later, she vowed and was fully accepted into the monastery. The princess died on December 23, 1787 at the age of 50. Her last words were:

On June 19, 1873, Pope Pius IX declared the nun Augustine venerable .
