Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the statistically isolated area of Napili-Honokovai has a total area of 11.1 square kilometers, of which 6.8 km 2 are land and 4.3 km 2 or 38.35% are water resources.
Demographics
According to the census for 2000 [3] , 6788 people lived in Napili-Honokovai, there were 2,629 households, 1,469 families, and 4,681 residential buildings.
According to the census, the racial makeup of Napili-Honokovai was as follows: 53.62% White , 0.72% Black or African American , 0.43% Native American , 19.12% Asian , 8.09% Pacific Native islands , 13.86% - representatives of mixed races, 4.15% - other nationalities. Hispanics made up 10.72% of the population.
Of the 2629 households, 28.3% raised children under the age of 18, 42.4% were married couples living together, in 8.8% of the families women lived without husbands, 44.1% did not have a family. 27.7% of the total number of families at the time of the census lived independently, while 3.4% were single elderly people aged 65 years and older. On average, 2.58 people conduct households, and the average family size is 3.2 people.
The population of Napili-Honokovai by age range (2000 census) was distributed as follows: 22.7% - residents under the age of 18, 7.9% - between 18 and 24 years old, 40.6% - from 25 to 44 years old, 22 , 5% - from 45 to 64 years old and 6.2% - aged 65 years and older. The average age of residents was 35 years. For every 100 females there are 106.6 males, while for every hundred females 18 years and older, 107.7 males are also older than 18 years.
Economics
The average household income per Napili-Honokovai was $ 51,030, and the average household income was $ 56,944. At the same time, men had an average income of $ 32,554 a year, against $ 28,979 of the average annual income for women. Transport
The settlement includes the former Kaanapali Airport, [4] whose functions were transferred to the Kapalua Airport in Lahaina [5] (known as Kapalua-West Maui Airport ). [6]
