History
The village of Troekurovo (also Khoroshevo or Nikolskoe) has been known since the 16th century and, apparently, already had its own wooden church, consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker . After the village passed from the Godunovs into the possession of the Troyekurovs , a new wooden church was erected there in the 1640s, which was replaced by the existing stone one at the beginning of the 18th century. The construction of the new church continued from 1699 to 1706, while the name of the architect who built it did not reach our time, although the project of the church, designed in the style of the early Moscow baroque, is considered to be quite original. Constructed simultaneously with the main volume of the temple, the tent bell tower was replaced in 1745 by a three-tier tower that has survived to this day.
From the middle of the 18th century until the closure of the church in 1931, its architectural appearance did not undergo significant changes. After the closure, the heads and crosses of the church and bell tower were removed, the interior decoration was lost, and the former church building was transferred to the tannery. After the war, the building belonged to the organization " Soveksportfilm ", which used it as a warehouse.
In 1991, the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Troyekurov was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church, and a year later the services were resumed there. Later, the appearance of the temple and the bell tower was restored.
Architecture
The ensemble of the temple consists of the main body and the bell tower attached to it. The main building is designed in the form of a two-tier quadrangle , on which a large rotunda is built, crowned, in turn, with a drum with a single head, the latter initially being the crown instead of the usual bulb. In the external decor of the building, baroque elements are viewed mainly due to the rounded shapes of the quadrangle and the white-stone facade details. In a style similar to the main volume, there is a quadrangular three-tiered bell tower with wide arches of ringing along the perimeter of the second tier and with round decorative windows on the third tier surmounted by a slender dome with a cross. In general, the architectural style of the temple in Troyekurov include [ who? ] to the early Moscow baroque with separate elements of the Peter baroque , comparing the temple with the church built at about the same time in the village of Lyubutsky .
Location
The temple is located a few hundred meters from the Moscow ring road near the exit to Troekurovsky passage . It can also be reached by bus 612 from the Kuntsevskaya metro station.
