Norway has confirmed its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 on June 30, 2011 [1] . The deadline for filing applications for participation in the national selection contest NRK was limited to September 2. The special jury selected 24 songs that will participate in the Melodi Grand Prix 2012 semi-finals. [2] Unlike previous years, this year there will be no Second Chance and 3 performers from each semi-final will go to the finals. [3]
As of October 1, 2011, NRK announced that about 800 applications were received, which is 100 more than in 2011 . [four]
On October 19, 2011, NRK officially announced the dates and cities in which the stages of the Melodi Grand Prix 2012 competition will be held. The final took place on February 11 at Oslo Spectrum in Oslo , the semi-finals on January 21, 28 and February 4, 2012, respectively.
